The rituals of bucks' nights are being neutered. Male friends are just as likely to come back from bucks' days rosy-cheeked and suspiciously moisturised after a morning at the day spa and an afternoon of golf.
These are men who grew up in the politically correct 1990s, where closest friends were likely to be a mix of men and women, where gender roles seemed fluid. They were part of a generation that delayed marriage, had many different partners, and may have many more, with divorce rates being what they are. Instead we are seeing male bonding odysseys and new-style bucks' dos, where it is more about men spending time with other men than men spending time ogling women.
